Brought home lunch today from Miccio’s Italian Market on North Lockwood Ridge Road in Sarasota. They make their own breads, marinara, meatballs, mozzarella, and sausage. I happened to pop in just as the pepperoni rolls were coming out of the oven, so my timing couldn’t have been better. These babies are essentially a pizza sandwich, especially when you dip the rolls into the provided marinara sauce. Really good! As a thank you, they gave me a small loaf of freshly baked Italian bread which was still warm and soft to the touch. That will surely go well with dinner tonight. Can you say pasta?

New Orleans has always been one of our favorite cities to visit. Not only is there a lot to do, there is a lot to eat. This particular trip with our boys was going to be a combined Dixiedining.com eating tour of New Orleans and an educational History Class field trip. Our home base was […]
We’ve had a grand time, these past few months, eating our way around the Magnolia State of Mississippi. Travel, eat, travel, eat. Tough life, huh? We haven’t had much time to write about everything, but we’re putting together a great series of articles chronicling our trips with recommendations of some serious grub and cool things […]
A visit to Miami’s Little Havana neighborhood is like a trip outside the USA. The sights, the smells, the accents — you’ll feel like you’ve really journeyed to Cuba. For many of us, it will be the closest we ever get to the real deal. We only had a few brief hours to explore this […]
What do you think of when you think of Cocoa Beach? Most folks from my generation think of the classic TV show “I Dream of Jeannie,” which was set in this coastal Florida community. Major Anthony Nelson (played by Larry Hagman) was in the Air Force and I’m sure most of you know that Cape […]
